Transform Your rucRak into a Heavy-Duty 2-Bike Carrier

Maximize the utility of your rucRak system with our modular Bike Carrier Upgrade Kit. Designed specifically for the GRUNT and GUNNY models, this kit allows you to securely mount up to two bicycles without sacrificing your rack's core functionality or losing your 100% tailgate access.

Engineered for rough terrain, the kit utilizes a zinc-coated steel foot insert to eliminate sway and padded aluminum supports to protect your bike frames on the trail.

Do You Need This Kit? While both the GRUNT and GUNNY offer plenty of tie-down points to strap bikes directly to the bare cargo rack, this Upgrade Kit is highly recommended. It utilizes a zinc-coated steel foot insert to eliminate sway and padded aluminum supports to protect your expensive bike frames on rough terrain.

E-Bike Compatibility & Limits This system is engineered primarily for traditional pedal bikes. However, you can safely load e-bikes onto your GRUNT or GUNNY provided they meet these strict limits:

Maximum Wheelbase: 45 inches or less
Maximum Combined Weight: Under 150 lbs total (Need to transport larger or heavier e-bikes? Keep an eye out for our upcoming dedicated heavy-duty e-bike system, The Chief).

Upgrade Kit Specs & Features:

System Compatibility: Fits all Gen 5+ rucRak models (GRUNT & GUNNY).
2-Bike Capacity: Securely carries up to two mountain, road, or trail bikes.
Anti-Sway Engineering: Zinc-coated steel foot insert dramatically reduces wobble during off-road travel.
Frame Protection: Includes padded aluminum square poles and Softride wheel straps.
Modular Quick-Release: Swap between cargo-only mode and bike-carrier mode in seconds.
Built for the Elements: Lightweight, rust-proof aluminum construction.
